Henleaze Choral Society
Bristol

Welcome

Henleaze Choral Society

Henleaze Choral Society is a friendly non-auditioned choir singing classical choral music. We hold our rehearsals at the Henleaze Bowling Club Pavilion, Grange Court Road, Henleaze, Bristol BS9.

We give two concerts a year at venues in Bristol:

Our main concert is in spring with a professional orchestra and local soloists.

Our popular mid-summer concert of light music is followed by a 'puddings tasting' (for both audience and choir).

The Concerts page of the website has the latest details of our upcoming concerts.

Musical Director: Robert Marson

We are very pleased to announce that Robert Marson is our new Musical Director. In addition to choir training and conducting, Robert is a well known Bristol Opera bass soloist, accompanist and voice coach. He received his early training as a Junior Exhibitioner at the Royal Academy of Music, London and later studied at Cambridge University. He lives in Bristol with his wife and two teenaged daughters.

Accompanist: Philip Blandford

Phil Blandford learnt piano from an early age and studied music at Bristol University. Since then he has pursued a variegated career in music - equally at home playing Jelly Roll Morton in 1920s jazz bands as playing Stravinsky for the Bristol Opera Society. He is also in demand as an accompanist for singers and theatre work.
